3RD ANNUAL S2P2 SYMPOSIUM

We are excited to announce the third annual Summer Symposium for Pipeline Programs (S2P2) at Tufts University School of Medicine and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences!

This event is designed to connect and support current and former trainees at Tufts who have participated in our Pipeline Programs: Building Diversity in the Biomedical Sciences (BDBS), Pathway to the PhD (P2P), PREP, and IRACDA.

Our Pipeline Programs seek to increase the diversity of our biomedical workforce and thus strengthen the research enterprise overall.

The S2P2 Symposium will consist of scientific talks and a career panel by our esteemed alumni as well as a keynote talk by Dr. Cornelius Y Taabazuing, a Presidential Assistant Professor at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a distinguished biochemist who is dedicated to improving diversity and equity in STEM.

These talks will not only focus on the scientific work of our alumni but also their journey in science. We hope that by sharing the perspectives of alumni trainees at later stages of their careers with trainees at earlier stages and by promoting interactions between these groups of talented individuals, we will (i) build new connections and strengthen existing ones among our Tufts community and (ii) provide inspiration and advice on building careers in science.

These goals will be further supported by a poster session featuring current BDBS students, panel discussions with alumni on career paths, and ample networking opportunities.
